The initial approach was for
a desktop solution. Both the application and shared
database were developed using Microsoft Access.
The input forms were designed around the existing
manual forms to alleviate retraining the staff.
The result
The system automated the process of ordering tickets
and booking accommodation. It was made to provide
appropriate flight receipts for clients which
gave them protection. Since implementation the
company has reported a much more efficient work
flow. The next phase for this solution is to develop
a client/server application running on an Intranet.
